Seulgi Park is a licensed barrister and solicitor in Ontario. She obtained her Juris Doctor from Osgoode Hall Law School at York University and her Honours Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Sociology from the University of Toronto.
Her interest in refugee and migrant rights began following two humanitarian trips to Jordan in 2012-2013 and 2016, where she witnessed the harsh realities faced by those forced to flee their countries.
During law school, she completed the Immigration and Refugee Law Intensive Program and was awarded the Ian Scott Public Interest Internship Award, which enabled her to work on advocacy projects with the Refugee Lawyers Association of Ontario, including extensive research on ministerial relief and inadmissibility provisions under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act and related regulations. Upon graduation, she received the University Women’s Club of North York - Lee Robertson Memorial Award in recognition of her advocacy on women’s social justice issues.
Seulgi articled with two established refugee and immigration lawyers and has continued to practice in this field, gaining experience in a wide range of immigration and refugee matters before joining AKM Law. She has represented clients before the Refugee Protection Division of the Immigration and Refugee Board and assists clients with a broad range of applications before Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada and the Canada Border Services Agency.
Seulgi has particular experience working with vulnerable clients, including unaccompanied minors and survivors of gender-based violence. She is committed to providing compassionate, ethical, and effective representation to individuals navigating Canada’s immigration system.
